"Soak up the variety of roads and landscapes on this motorcycle tour through the Bauges& Vosges Mountains of eastern France ..."

As we start the tour we ride through vineyards of the Champagne and Bourgogne regions with an aperitif of local wine to welcome you to our first hotel.

Our next destination is to a 15th century chateau in a valley close to the town of Chambery and in the foothills of the Bauges mountains which are bordered by two of the largest natural lakes in France, Lac d'Annecy and Lac du Bourget. We shall be staying in this family owned Chateau where the owner is a keen motorcyclist with a passion for wine and there will be a pre-dinner wine tasting in their cellar during our stay.

Whilst in the Bauges we have ride-outs planned for each day making the most of the superb mountain passes ascending the Col de la Madeleine which, at its summit, has stunning views of Mont Blanc in the distance. We visit a glacial valley for lunch on our route over the Cormet de Roselend and ride a circular route taking in the shores of Lac d’Annecy and the Col de Leschaux.

Staying on the eastern side of France we head north into the Southern Vosges to our spa hotel for the next 3 nights is in the lakeside town of Gerardmer. There are endless options for routes from our hotel with superb motorcycling roads in every direction. We have included several of the mountain passes in our routes riding over the Col de la Schlucht and Col du Bonhomme. We follow the Routes des Cretes, a fantastic 55 mile stretch of road which passes through the National Park of the Ballons des Vosges and riding at an elevation of over 3,000ft on this ridge road you will be able to take in the stunning scenery.

Further north but still within the Vosges we move for the next 2 nights to the small mountain village of La Petite Pierre riding through the Alsace. The village holds a jazz festival every August and you will have an opportunity to attend one of the sessions. Our ride-out takes you through the forests of the Northern Vosges and to the historic site of Mont Saint Odile situated on top of a mountain offering panoramic views.

The last night of this tour will be in the town of Vianden in Luxembourg before we return to the UK riding into the Belgian Ardennes for morning coffee before we pick up the free autoroute as we make our way to the Eurotunnel terminal at Calais.
