01. DragonMotoTours South Wales Tour : 17th - 20th April 2015

Please note that this tour is now fully booked, however, you can contact us to be considered for a cancellation should it arise or to enquire about any of our other tours.

We are starting our 2015 touring programme with a return to a region of Wales which we last visited in August 2013.  We will be staying in Carmarthen which is situated on the banks of the River Towy and is reported to be the oldest town in Wales.  Our stay is for 3 nights, Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.

Over the four days of this tour we will ride on roads which offer spectacular views of Pen Y Fan, the highest peak south of Snowdon, visit sandy beaches which are among the best in Europe and ride to the largest natural lake in the region.

The Cambrian Mountains and the Brecon Beacons are on our doorstep.  In 2013 this National Park became an international Dark Sky Reserve and whilst we are not planning to ride through the park at night!.... this award does tell you a lot about the Brecons which cover 520 sq. miles and where there are open roads through stunning scenery with little in the way of populated towns to negotiate.  You can join us on routes which will provide you with wonderful views of the Welsh hills and valleys as we ride over the Preseli Mountains and north towards Devils Bridge, or climb over the Black Mountain before descending to the small market town of Llandovery.

You will have the opportunity to ride to the seaside resort of St Davids where there is the impressive Cathedral to walk around, galleries and cafes to visit.  This tiny City is located within the Pembrokeshire National Park which is Britain's only coastal national park and is also home to the resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot together with Pendine Sands which was where Malcolm Campbell broke three land speed records and is home to the Museum of Speed.

Further south there is the Gower Peninsula to explore, this was the first area in Britain to be designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty".  Our recommendation is to visit Rhossili Bay where you may wish to spend some time taking in a walk across the sea cliff tops towards Worms Head, athough this walk is dependent on the timings of the tide.  There are cafes which have stunning views of Rhossili Bay and the walk down onto the beach is well worth it.

There are fantastic motorcycling roads within easy reach of our hotel.  If you are looking for a short break on two wheels which offers mountains, sea and lakes then South Wales has everything you need.

Total mileage for this tour will be approximately 750 miles if you join us on our planned ride-outs.
