07. DragonMotoTours Bavaria, Tirol & Vosges Tour : 3rd - 12th July 2015

Please note that this tour is now fully booked, however, you can contact us to be considered for a cancellation should it arise or to enquire about any of our other tours.

Over the 10 days of this, our longest motorcycle tour of 2015, you will ride through five countries taking in amazing scenery from the forests and ridges of the Vosges, to the lakes and picturesque half-timbered houses in the towns of Bavaria and the majesty of the Austrian Alps.

We have two main destination locations for this tour in Bavaria, Germany and the Vosges, France.  Our hotel in Bavaria is located less than 10 miles from the border with Austria opening up the opportunity to ride into the Austrian Tirol and whilst staying in the southern Vosges you will be able to ride the Routes des Cretes.

Following an early Eurotunnel crossing to Calais on the Friday morning, we will ride through the Ardennes, cross the French and Belgian borders alongside the River Meuse and on into Luxembourg where we will stay for the first night of the tour.  Next day we will take you on roads made for riding as we go in and out of Luxembourg and Germany in the morning before crossing into France through the northern Vosges and onto our hotel for the second night in the Alsace region.

As we ride to our hotel in Bavaria on day 3, we will cross the Rhine heading east through the Black Forest.  We shall be staying for 4 nights in our next hotel which is located in a very picturesque setting located next to a lake with stunning views of the Ammergau and Tirol Alps.  The hotel has a spa and wellness centre which you may wish to make use off at the end of a days' motorcycling.

We have ride-outs planned for the time we shall be staying in Bavaria which will take you on fantastic flowing roads such as the Deutsche Alpenstrasse and the southern section of The Romantic Road.  You will have an opportunity to cross the border into Austria, taking in the views of the Tirol region as you ride over the Fern Pass.  Close to our hotel is the historic town of Fussen which is part of the "Kings' Corner" and refers to the many castles in the area and in particular the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles which are only 5 miles away.

Having ridden in Bavaria and the Tirol we move onto the southern Vosges in France for 2 nights where we shall be staying in the lakeside town of Gerardmer.  We have a route planned whilst staying in this location which will take you on part of the Routes des Cretes which translates as the "Route of the Ridges", this is a fantastic 55 mile stretch of road passing through the National Park of the Ballons des Vosges.  For most of this route you will be riding at an elevation of over 3,000ft offering spectacular views and on a good day you can see Mont Blanc from the Grand Ballon.

On day 9 we leave the Vosges taking a route north to our hotel in the Champagne-Ardenne region of France and you can relax in the pool before sitting down to dinner at the end of yet another excellent day of motorcycling.  The final day of the tour is a ride to the Eurotunnel terminal at Calais and we plan to take a crossing which will see yuu arrive back in the UK mid-afternoon.

Total mileage for this tour will be approximately 1,900 miles if you join us on our planned ride-outs.
