12. DragonMotoTours Donegal & Kerry, Ireland Tour : 6th - 12th September 2015

Please note that this tour is now fully booked, however, you can contact us to be considered for a cancellation should it arise or to enquire about any of our other tours.

We will be riding in Ireland for 7 days during this tour staying at two destinations for 3 nights in each location taking in the counties of Donegal and Kerry.  Both our hotels have swimming pools and gym facilities for you to use, and spa treatments are available if you wish to treat yourself at the end of a day's motorcycling!

The tour starts with a Sunday morning ferry crossing from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire* where we are due to arrive early afternoon.  After dis-embarking we will ride north taking a cross country route through, amongst others, the counties of Meath and Tyrone on our way to our first hotel of the tour in County Donegal.

Our hotel is ideally located for exploring Ireland's second largest county and during our stay here we will take you on quiet roads which follow the Wild Atlantic Way which is a truly captivating coastal motorcycling route.  We will ride to the most northerly point in Ireland which is Malin Head, take in the views of the Derryveagh Mountains on great riding roads through the Glenveagh National Park and the Slieve League Cliffs, which are one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe, are well worth a visit as they drop 600 metres into Donegal Bay.

On day 4 of our tour we ride south to our base for the next 3 nights on the outskirts of the pretty village of Adare in County Limerick.  On leaving Donegal we ride through the Barnesmore Gap and the Natural Heritage areas of Cashelnavean and Meenagarranore Bogs with lunch in one of the small towns on route through County Mayo.

We have based ourselves in Adare as it opens up the opportunity to not only ride the Ring of Kerry which is arguably one of the most well known riding routes in the area, but also to explore the Killarney National Park and the Dingle Peninsula which is the northernmost of the major peninsulae in County Kerry and Dunmore Head is the most western point of Ireland.

During your time staying at our family run hotel you can join us on the ride-outs we have planned or you could visit Limerick which is only 10 miles away and take a boat trip on the River Shannon or you can hop on one of the sightseeing buses to find the hidden treasures of the City of Limerick.  Our routes through Kerry will show you stunning views of the mountains as we ride towards Killarney, we will follow rugged coastlines and take you over Conor Pass which is the highest mountain pass in Ireland.

For our final day of riding in Ireland, we have a cross country route to the Port of Dublin for an afternoon ferry crossing to Holyhead.

Total mileage for this tour will be approximately 1,400 miles if you join us on all our prepared ride-outs.
