"Our 2020 touring season starts with a return visit to Wales..."

... specifically to enjoy the views and riding roads of the Snowdonia National Park in the North and also two days touring through Mid Wales. Both regions showcase the diversity of the country from the mountains and lakes of the national park to the secluded nature of the Elan valley and the spectacular Welsh coastline.

For this tour we have two destinations, the first two nights will be in a 4* award winning Country Hotel overlooking the iconic Lake Vyrnwy followed by a further two nights in a 4* Spa Hotel in Llandrindod Wells in Mid Wales. Both hotels are ideally located for making the most of the surrounding riding routes and to sample excellent Welsh cuisine.

The meeting point on day one of the tour will be at our hotel at Lake Vyrnwy starting with a welcome dinner that evening, there is plenty to see and do in and around the hotel should you wish to arrive earlier during the day. The following morning our ride-out into the Snowdonia National Park region begins with a scenic ride over the Berwyn Mountains taking in the Lakes of Bala and Celyn on route. Lunch will be at renovated granite quarry on the Llyn Peninsula overlooking the Irish Sea at the foot of Yr Eifl Mountain.

We relocate next day to our second hotel in the heart of Mid Wales, riding on an old drovers road over Ysbyty Ifan with views of the Carneddau mountains and the Irish sea as we descend towards Dolgellau and lunch at an Inn near the foot of Cadar Idris. Our route continues through the picturesque Elan Valley which forms part of the Cambrian Mountains and is home to rugged open landscapes, dams and reservoirs. On arrival at our next hotel there will be plenty of time to make the most of the hotel facilities before dinner that evening.

Saturday’s ride-out is into the heart of Mid Wales, riding south towards the Brecon Beacons National Park on some of our favourite riding roads in the area. We cross the border between Wales and England through the Welsh Marches and the Vale of Kerry and return to the hotel along a stretch of 20+ miles of weeping corners and bends.

Our tour concludes on stunning touring roads along the banks of the River Wye out towards the Welsh coastline returning inland skirting the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park crossing the English / Welsh border to our dispersal point at The British Ironworks on the outskirts of Oswestry.
